Helping Support our Local Food Bank

by | Nov 19, 2019

I expect many of you have been reading press reports recently about the continuing need for Food Banks throughout the country. Run by the Trussell Trust charity, it is a cause that I think is doing a fantastic job helping people in need and we like to do our bit.

I am pleased to say that we received this wonderful letter from our local Forest Foodbank:

“Dear Lynn and Graham. Thank you for your donation of harvest festival food to the Forest Foodbank. Sydenham House collected an amazing 13.4kg of food which has been a great addition to our stock so that we can continue to hand out food to those people who are struggling to feed themselves or their family.

“It takes far more food than you might expect to keep the foodbank going and, on average, we give out 2 tonnes of food per month. In fact the food you donated will provide about 31 meals for local people in need. Every item counts and it will mean everything to those who will be helped.

“On behalf of needy people in crisis in the Forest of Dean and all of my volunteers, we thank you and your colleagues for their donation and hope that you will continue to support us in the future.

“Once again our sincere thanks.”

Tina Gray, Forest Foodbank Manager.

We were happy to help, as always.
