Please have a read of the kind words of just a few of our residents family members.
"My mum has lived at Sydenham House now for 3 and a half years. As her daughter, of course, I had my doubts about it. But I can honestly say it’s a lovely home. But my thanks must be to all the staff. They are lovely, kind caring ladies, communication with everyone is excellent, I can’t fault anything. Thank you to you all, you do a brilliant hard job. Xxx."
"Five star service."
"I would be happy to recommend Sydenham House, Blakeney to anybody. The staff are hardworking, caring and welcoming and the amenities are homely and the management ensure that the residents get plenty of opportunity for physical and mental stimulation as they engage an activity co-ordinator and also have regular keep-fit sessions. The residents are regularly entertained by singers and other sorts of externally sourced entertainment (such as panto’s, plays etc). The residents also have access to hairdressers twice a week. Overall I am very happy with Sydenham and feel assured that my mother is very well looked after. ."
"My wife has suffered for a number of years with dementia and other problems and was being cared for at home. During her last spell in hospital, it became evident that remaining at home was no longer an option. We, the family, were very fortunate that a vacancy arose at Sydenham House and my wife was discharged directly to there from hospital. Since then, her health has continued to decline but, whatever new challenge arises from this, the management and staff find caring and dignified solutions. Sydenham House is a homely and friendly care home. Although it is devastating to see a loved one decline so much, it is reassuring to know that she is being so lovingly and well looked after."
"Deciding to move my mum into Sydenham house was among the most difficult choices of my life. It also turned out to be one of the very best. Mum was struggling with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. As a family we were struggling to cope. We had tried providing live-in care, but it didn’t work out. And so, after one last Christmas at home mum moved into Sydenham House. Of course, things are not easy. But the staff create a loving, caring environment where mum, despite her challenges, feels safe and secure. The staff at Sydenham are truly dedicated to the physical and emotional well-being of the residents. I can honestly say that every time we visit mum at Sydenham House her room is spotless, and she always looks great in freshly laundered clothes."
"I cannot recommend Sydenham House highly enough."
"It's difficult to sum up my feelings towards Lyn and her staff in a few sentences. Mum has been a resident since June 2016. Having to put Mum into care was a very painful decision for Dad and I but Mum's ill health and Dad's age made it impossible to keep her at home. Dad passed away in April 2017 but he was treated with the greatest of kindness when he visited Mum."
"Mum has been a resident of Sydenham House since June 2016. She is and always has been treated with kindness and dignity and I have received a great deal of support from Lyn and her staff and have been made incredibly welcome when visiting. Sydenham House has a warm and friendly atmosphere and I am confident that Mum is receiving the best care I could wish for her."
"My Mum Olive has been a resident at Sydenham house since November 2017 due to her having severe Alzheimer's Disease. As a family we have peace of mind that she is cared for 24/7 thanks to Lyn and all her amazing staff. Mum enjoys the regular activities that are arranged plus she is very safe. They have got to know mum and keep her busy."
"To see her smile at this stage is very rewarding. Myself and Dad know that this is the best place and we are very fortunate. We can visit anytime and don’t need an appointment. We do appreciate what they do for Mum."
