Here at Sydenham House, we’re excited to announce that we’re looking for new staff to join our progressive and forward-thinking team of caring professionals.

A family run business, Sydenham House is managed by Lyn who is the Registered Manager at the home.  Lyn is supported by Ben, her son Ben.  Husband Graham runs the nearby farm which plays a really important role in the life of the home.

As a Residential Manager at homes in Derbyshire for fifteen years before moving to Gloucestershire, Lyn took over the management of Sydenham House.

Being a registered person with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Lyn has a legal responsibility to comply with the legal requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and its associated regulations.

We currently have 17 members of staff working with us at Sydenham House. Our residential home is more like a family, with many members of staff being here for over 20 years or more.  We’re very passionate about ongoing training for all of our staff, including food hygiene and infection control.

Our experienced staff have all completed their Qualification and Credit Framework (QCFs) awards in Health and Social Care and all staff have completed a minimum of level Two Awards in Dementia Care.

Night Care Assistant

We’re looking for a kind, caring and considerate person to join our well established and wonderful team.

If you’re interested, then you must be able to work three nights per week, from 10pm till 8am and if necessary, cover staff sickness and holidays.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and enjoys working with a committed team whilst being caring, reliable and compassionate.

In return, we offer a comprehensive induction programme, a variety of different but relevant training and excellent career opportunities.

We will only employ applicants that intend this position to be their only job and are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Care Assistant

We are also looking for a kind, caring and considerate care assistant to work as part of our professional and long-established team here at Sydenham House.

If you’re interested, then you must be able to work flexible hours, either part-time or full time and cover staff sickness and holidays when necessary.

Your communication skills will be excellent and you’ll enjoy working with and being part of our committed and professional team.
