Sydenham House is a family run business. Lyn is the Registered Manager, ably assisted by her son Ben. Lyn’s husband Graham runs the nearby farm that plays such an important role in the life of the home.
Lyn worked as a Residential Manager at homes in Derbyshire for fifteen years before moving to Gloucestershire and taking over Sydenham House. Being a registered person with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Lyn has a legal responsibility to comply with the legal requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and its associated regulations.
There are 17 members of staff currently working at the home, many of whom have been employed for twenty years or more. All receive ongoing training including food hygiene and infection control.
Experienced staff have completed Qualification and Credit Framework (QCFs) awards in Health and Social Care and all staff have completed a minimum of level Two Awards in Dementia Care.
